Pseudo-Parenting

Took Maddy to the Vet this afternoon, her first visit since we’ve had her. On the agenda was her final vaccination and getting a flea product (she doesn’t have any fleas, just a preventative thing).

We also needed to have her stitches removed from when she was desexed, shortly before we got her. The breeder didn’t mention anything about it so we presumed they were dissolving stitches. After a couple of weeks they were still there so I contacted the breeder who said they need to be removed and that we were told this when we picked her up. Neither my girlfriend nor I recall any such sharing of information so not real happy, but we made an appointment to sort it out.

I was a bit nervous about how she’d be and whether the stitches would come out easily. They did, which was great, and Maddy was a real trooper. Unlike me when I go to the doctor or dentist, she actually seemed to understand she was being taken care of and showed her gratitude by giving the Vet a big sloppy lick on the cheek! So cute.

Here’s a recent portrait her mother took:

What a cutie.
